Textile tour of Gujarat - Kutch

Textile tour of Gujarat- Kutch is the biggest district of India is famous for textile, block printing, tie dye, weaving, embroidery.

 It has almost everything which a tourist wants. People of Kutch are known for their spirit of living in adversity as it was a remote place with scarcity of water long ago. But people of Kutch lived there with the spirit and cultivated an artistic way of living and made their life and the place more beautiful.

You can find it in various kind of embroidery, tie dye, weaving, block printing & handicraft as well as in painted Bungas (round houses) there and can visit unique WHITE DESERT + can see migratory birds and one of the biggest excavated Harappan civilization sites of the world - Dholavira.

Beautiful beach of Mandvi (optional-stay at the beach in tents) you can also see ship building there and can also visit a very good palace. Do not forget to see salt production in small desert by sweet people.

Apart from all of these most important is traditional dressing and living style of people and their artistic spirit of living from generation




 




Itinerary

Day 1 Bhujodi for embroidery, Ajrakhpur village for block printing and Bhuj museum & tie dye worker

Day 2 Dholavira - one of biggest Excavated sites of Harrapan civilization.
Day 3 Visit of Sumatrasar village for weaving, Ludia and Bhirandiara for Bhungas & embroidery, (round painted and decorated huts) and Bandhani (tie die) maker.
Day 4 Visit White desert, Dhordo and Nirona village for bell making, Lacquer work. It's about painting wooden items with Lacquer. (Lacquer In modern techniques, lacquer means a range of clear or coloured wood finishes that dry by solvent evaporation or a curing process that produces a hard, durable finish. The finish can be of any sheen level from ultra matte to high gloss, and it can be further polished as required.) & Rogan art. ( Rogan is the technique of painting on fabric, crafted from thick brightly coloured paint made with castor seed oil. Castor is an agricultural product.)
Day 5 Mandvi palace visit.
Day 6 come to little desert of Kutch
Day 7 Visit wild ass sanctuary  
Day 8 Gondal (palace, vintage cars and herbal pharmacy which remains close on government holidays)  
Day 9 Jetpur - screen printing. Closed on Wednesday and festivals like Diwali. Indian new year.
Day 10 Ahmedabad (In Calico textile museum, restricted number of visitors are allowed only once in a day. so we will visit if possible. Remains close on wednesday and on public holiday)
Day 11 Modhera Patan (Patola weaving)

Day12 Leave from Ahmedabad.
